Case 11 · VPN & ZTNA Replacement

Drop legacy VPNs and heavy ZTNA agents.

Most teams run a VPN or a complex ZTNA client just to access a few admin panels and an internal wiki. Replace them with our extension: reclaim CPU, battery, and avoid the flaky reconnect dance.

Status quo

Network-level access is overkill for web apps.

Classic VPNs and enterprise ZTNA solutions require kernel drivers, MDM profiles, and complex network routing. All of this just so a manager can open an internal Jira board or a staging site.

L7 Admin Guard way

Application-level Zero Trust.

If your team only needs access to internal web apps, the extension does it better. It routes traffic selectively at the browser level, without touching the OS network stack or requiring device management.

Step by step

01

Deploy the gateway

Install the lightweight gateway in front of your internal web apps (like Jira, Confluence, or internal admin panels).

02

Distribute tokens

Generate access tokens in the Control Plane and send them to your team members.

03

Work without agents

Users install the browser extension, enter their token, and can instantly access internal resources without launching a VPN client.

Common questions

Does this replace a VPN entirely?
For web applications (HTTP/HTTPS)—yes, absolutely. If you need SSH, RDP, database access from a desktop client, or the ability to route entire subnets (e.g. 10.0.0.0/8), you will still need a traditional VPN or network-level ZTNA.
Why is it better than a corporate VPN?
There is no need to install heavy desktop clients or manage connection profiles, making onboarding significantly simpler. Plus, it doesn't route all your computer's traffic through the corporate network, which saves bandwidth, eliminates MTU issues, and preserves privacy.
